Year 5: dans ma trousse

starter: which words are masculine, feminine or plural?

Can you now list the new items in this song?

New learning: il y a... = there is...
Il y a combien de stylos? = how many pens are there?
Be careful when you answer in the plural, to show the plural of the noun!
Example: il y a un crayon et il y a deux stylos.

True or false? Read the sentences, write the corrected sentences in your book!
1. Dans mon sac, il y a un crayon, deux regles, un cahier, trois livres, un crayon de couleur Crayola et deux pommes!

2. Dans mon cartable, il y a deux crayons, trois trousses, une regle et un petit cahier.

What do you have in your school bag? Il y a combien de cahiers? Il y a combien de crayons? Write the sentence in your book!

HOMEWORK: learn the classroom objects (write in your vocab book), test on numbers and school objects next week!

Years 4, 5 and 6: French Phonetics

We often think of French as difficult to pronounce. This is because we need to place our mouth differently when we make the French sounds. This takes practice of course!
Think that it is the same for a French person learning English! :)
Have a go at the following presentation and practise the sounds:

Key French sounds & spellings from Jo Rhys-Jones

Here is a funny video of the French Pink Panther trying to pronounce English words... Not easy for him either! (I hope you are doing better at the French sounds!!)
